Presenting a stunning suite of Art Deco cuff with earrings featuring natural Amethyst cabochons in Sterling Silver in a bubble motif circa 1920 -1930.
This is a rare find. These pieces date back to the beginning of the Taxco silversmiths and shows
the innovation and style of these artisans. The cuff features twenty bezel set 4.5mm natural Amethyst cabochons in a bubble motif completed in Sterling Silver. The cuff closes securely with a hidden box clasp and measures 1.6" wide and has a interior width of 2.6" and a exterior diameter of 8.25". The cuff weighs 55.4 grams. It is visibly hallmarked "Mexico Sterling".
To complete the suite are a matching pair of screw back earrings also featuring six 4.5mm natural Amethyst cabochons in a bubble motif completed in Sterling Silver. The earrings measure and weigh 7.7 grams. They are also visibly hallmarked “Mexico Sterling”.
This suite is in excellent vintage condition with no blemishes, chips or repairs. It has a total weight of 63.1 grams. It is visibly hallmarked "Sterling Mexico" for 925 Silver. JSP testing solution was used to verify all precious metals. A Presidium Duo Gem tester was used to verify the natural gemstones. The gemstones were acetone tested for color fastness. This item was examined using ultraviolet light and a microscope. The gemstones are Natural untreated and not Lab Created.
This item predates Mexico adoption of the eagle head mark (post-1948) that was later changed to a letter and number system (post-1980's). This suite can be dated earlier than 1948.
The Bubble motif was very popular during the Art Deco period. This particular style has become quite a rare and wonderful find.
