Presenting a 18K / 13K /12K classic tri-tone Black Hills Gold navette ring circa 1960- 1970s.

This beautiful ring features all of the distinctive design and hand crafting that makes true Black Hills jewelry so desirable. It is completed in a Navette shape using tri-tone gold in 18K rose Gold, 13K yellow Gold and 12K green Gold. It is constructed with the traditional grape leaves and tendrils. These feature a hand-crafted finish that gives it depth called “Wriggle” and are hand engraved to produce prismatic effects to catch the light.

The ring face measures 1.2" x .365" with a two-tone joined .125" band. It is a size 4 and weighs 3.4 grams.

This ring is in excellent vintage condition with no blemishes or repairs. It is visibly hallmarked 18K gold for 750 Gold. The rose gold tests as 18K, The Yellow Gold as 13K and the Green Gold as 12K. There are no visible makers marks. An Auracle Gold tester and JSP testing solution was used to verify the precious metals. This item was microscopically examined.

Black Hills Gold is a type of gold jewelry that has a distinctive design and is manufactured in the Black Hills area in South Dakota, United States. The designs use grapes, grape leaves and grape stems and are easily recognizable for their distinctive gold colors in three main hues: pink, green, and yellow.

In 1878, S.T. Butler, trained by Black Hills pioneer and prospector Henri LeBeau, opened the first Black Hills Gold jewelry manufacturing store with his son, George M. Butler in Deadwood, South Dakota. In 1919, the company was divided into two companies, the F.L. Thorpe Company and the Black Hills Jewelry Manufacturing Company.

In 1944 Ivan Landstrom bought the Black Hills Jewelry Manufacturing Company and in 1995 Black Hills history went full circle when Landstrom's acquired the F.L. Thorpe Company making Landstrom’s the sole owner of all the original Black Hills Gold designs.
