Presenting a bracelet from Taxco, Mexico with Inlaid Turquoise in 950 Fine Silver circa 1980s.
The Turquoise is a brilliant azure blue, some with lite veining. Each bank of Turquoise is hand cut, polished and artfully inlaid in fine 950 silver which are jointed together by linked hinges. These hinges allow the bracelet to hang perfectly and gives it movement.
The bracelet measures 8" x 1.3" x .5" and weighs 36.4 grams. It is visibly hallmarked 950 for 95% fine Silver which is a higher quality than Sterling. The bracelet closes securely with a box clasp.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no blemishes, chips or repairs. It is visibly hallmarked " 950" (Greater than Sterling Silver) and a unidentified makers mark of TD-56. JSP testing solution was used to verify all precious metals. A Presidium Duo Gem tester was used to verify the natural gemstones. The gemstones were acetone tested for color fastness. This item was examined using ultraviolet light and a microscope. The gemstone is Natural not Lab Created.
Mexico adopted the eagle head mark (post-1948) and later changed to a letter and number system (post-1980's). This piece can be dated 1979 or later.
