Presenting a Art Deco size 5 ring in white on white, with a cultured Akoya Pearl and 4 old mine cut Diamonds in a 18K white gold setting circa 1925.
This beautiful Art Deco ring features a white on white style in a lovely filigree and bead setting. This size 5 ring features one post set AAA 4mm white Akoya Pearl with silver overtones and a thick nacre. This is surrounded by four 2mm prong set round old European cut diamonds. These are SI2 natural mined untreated diamonds for a total of .12 carats. This is set in a 18K white gold filigree and bead setting and weighs 3.6 grams.
This ring is in excellent vintage condition with no blemishes or breaks. There are no visible hallmarks. A Presidium duo Gem tester is used to verify all gemstones. JSP testing solution and a Mizar gold tester were used to verify the precious metals. This item was microscopically examined. The stones were acetone tested for color fastness.
Akoya Pearls are graded on AAA-A scale. The pearl in this ring is AAA. This means it is very high luster and only minor imperfections over less than 10% of its surface.
Old Mine cut diamonds are older cuts that were completed on mined natural diamonds prior to the time any enhancements where invented. When compared to the modern round brilliant cut, the old Mine cut has smaller tables, steeper crown angles, generally larger cutlets and short star facets, as well as shorter lower girdle facets.
