Presenting an Art Nouveau 14K yellow gold brooch / pin with a Magnificent 23mm cultured South Sea Mabe Pearl, surrounded by undulating vines, leaves and berries and accented with 2 cultured Baroque Pearls.
This Art Nouveau brooch is stunning in every way. It measures 2.25” x 1.5” and features a near flawless 23mm x 12mm cultured Mabe Pearl with very high luster and thick nacre. This is surrounded by sensual curving vines with leaves and berries and is accented with two mildly pink high luster 7mm x 4mm cultured Baroque Pearls. The brooch weights 11.6 grams and is in excellent antique condition.
The brooch features the original pin which is straight without a clasp or closure in the style of a fur clip. This brooch is in excellent antique condition with no visible dings, dents or scratching. There is a visible hallmark 14K for 585 Gold. JSP testing acid was used to verify the Gold Karat. The pearl was microscopically examined.
The Art Nouveau movement was from 1885 to 1910. It focused on sensual lines and images of the female figure and forms in nature. The whiplash curves and exaggerated lines created a feeling of lushness and opulence.
