Presenting a Persian filigree pendant with carved natural Zoisite Scarab on a crafted bar link Sterling Silver chain circa 1930 - 1940.
This Egyptian revival piece features a meticulously carved 15mm x 10mm x 7mm natural (not heat treated) Zoisite Scarab surrounded by applied twisted wire, Sterling silver flower buds and tear drops on a intricately woven filigree Sterling Silver pendant. The pendant is framed in graceful swirls and has 3 filigree floral drops. It is suspended by another filigree floral bail and attached to a cleverly crafted bar link chain. The chain links are fashioned into question and exclamation marks, all in 925 Sterling Silver. The pendant with bails and drops measures 4" x 2.25" x .375". The fashioned bar links in the chain measures 28mm x 7mm x 3mm and is 32" long. The necklace with pendant weighs 53.3 grams closes securely with a spring ring clasp.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no blemishes or repairs. The piece is visibly hallmarked on a oval cartouche attached to the clasp "175 RM 925" for 925/1000 grade Silver on one side and on the opposite side is hallmarks in Persian arabic with a Persian hallmark for 925 pre - WWII. JSP testing solution was used to verify all precious metals. A Presidium Gem tester was used to verify the gemstone. The gemstone was acetone tested for color fastness. This item was examined using ultraviolet light and a microscope.
