Presenting a Victorian size 6.5 ring with a oval faceted Garnet with 2 diamond accents in a shield motif in 10KP (Plumb) Gold circa 1880.
This beautiful ring features a shield shaped setting with a prong set 7.3mm x 5.2mm Garnet and accented on either side by two round Old European cut 2.3mm diamonds. The shield is mounted to a half - round tapered shank which ranges from 3mm to 2mm. The Garnet is approx. .97 carats and the diamonds are approx. .066 carats total and the ring weighs 2.6 grams.
This ring is in excellent antique condition with no blemishes or repairs. The ring is visibly hallmarked “10KP” and a unknown makers mark. JSP testing solution was used to verify all precious metals. A Presidium Gem tester was used to verify the gemstone. The gemstone was acetone tested for color fastness. This item was examined using ultraviolet light and a microscope. The gemstone is Natural not Lab Created and most likely heat treated. This is considered a acceptable treatment and is permanent. The treatment results in a clearer gemstone with a more vibrant color.
