Presenting a signed 3 piece suite of Navajo gemstone clustered Sterling Silver jewelry circa 1970 - 1980.

This stunning 3 piece suite by renown Navajo artist John Delvin features a 5 piece hinged necklace with gemstone clusters and channels in a Sterling Silver setting. The gemstones are Turquoise, Coral, Malachite, Amethyst, Onyx and Spiny Oyster. These 8mm oval shaped cabochons are set with a serrated bezel into 4 shadow box stamped 2.25" x .5" x .25" channels with an oxidized background. The channels are joined by hinges to a Tear Drop stamped 1.5" x .875" x .375" pendant with gemstone cabochons with applied beading and a oxidized background. These are joined on each side with five inches of 5mm wide chain and closes with a lobster claw clasp.

The 1" x .675" x .25" tear shaped post earrings mirror the pendant in style and weighs 9 grams. The necklace measures 19" with a 1.5" pendant drop and weighs 56 grams for a total weight of 65 grams. The necklace is visibly hallmarked “D STERLING” a current hallmark for John Delvin, and has a Rhodium plated back. The necklace’s lobster clasp is visibly hallmarked 925. The earrings are visibly marked “D. Sterling”. This is a pre 1980's hallmarked for John Delvin. The earring backs are hallmarked 925. The earrings do not seem to have the same Rhodium plating that is present on the necklace.

This suite is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, breaks or repairs. JSP testing solution was used to verify all precious metals. A Presidium gem tester was used to verify the gemstones. This item was examined with ultraviolet light and with a microscope. The gemstones were acetone tested for color fastness.
