Presenting a exquisite late Victorian brooch / pendant Cameo of Dionysus or Bacchus, the Greek and Roman mythological god of wine and fertility, crowned with vines and beautifully depicted in high relief Salmon Coral with natural Pearls in a 14k gold setting circa 1890.
This cameo is carved in high relief with masterful skill in Salmon Coral. It measures 1.5" x 1" x .375" and weighs 7 grams. It has a retractable 10k Gold bale and a 14k Gold pin with original clasp. The cameo is bezel set in a 14k yellow Gold Halo frame decorated at each corner with four natural 3mm Pearls. This piece is visible hallmarked 14k on the frame and clasp. It is visibly hallmarked 10k on the retractable bail.
This brooch / pendant is in excellent antique condition with no blemishes. The high relief coral is in mint condition with no unnatural crazing and is without blemish. This item was microscopically examined.
