Presenting a retired Oscar de la Renta perched bird brooch circa 1970's.
There is a reason Oscar de la Renta is always classic and never goes out of style. At over 2.375" x 1.125" x .625" this brooch features a perched bird with amber crystals in a tree adorned with simulated pearls in a antiqued gold tone setting. This highly detailed brooch doesn't disappoint.
I could go on and on, but, the pictures speak for themselves.
This brooch is in mint vintage condition with no blemishes or repairs. The pin is straight and the safety roll over clasp closes securely. This brooch is visibly hallmarked Oscar.
In the 1960s, Oscar de la Renta developed a reputation for his classic and opulent designs thanks to his long, romantic gowns. In 1973 he was named president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and launched the CFDA awards, of which he would later be a distinguished winner in 1990, 2000 and 2007. For the next two decades, the designer would devote his talent to his ready-to-wear collections, including his line of fashion jewelry.
A well known protégée and former couture designer of Oscar de la Renta's is Iradj Moini. Moini's jewelry is now highly sought after.
