This lovely Van Dell has a gold-filled asymmetrical swirling wire frame adorned with champagne simulated pearls and clear glass chatons.
It measures 1 3/4" x 1" and marked 12k GF Van Dell on the tag on back.
It is in excellent vintage condition with no damage or visible wear. The pin is straight with a secure safety clasp.
This pretty piece dates circa late 1940's. Van Dell has produced fine quality jewelry from 1938 to the present. A lot of wire frame jewelry, both gold-filled and sterling was made during WWII because pot metal was in short supply and wire frames required less metal. Also after 1955 most jewelry carries the copyright symbol which this piece does not have.
This Van Dell will take you back to the Big Band era......... Anyone hear Duke Ellington playing in the back ground?
