The distinctive Old World look of this plume brooch is the signature look of Florenza. It features opaline navettes with prong set iridescent mauve molded glass leaves and aurora borealis rhinestones in a antiqued gold-tone setting.
This substantial brooch measures 2.75" x 1.5". The pin and clasp close securely.
This hard to find brooch is marked Florenza with copyright symbol on a rectangular plate.
Florenza manufactured jewelry for Weiss, Kramer, Coro, Capri, Carnegie and Revlon, but only put their names on original pieces designed by owner Daniel Kasoff. These stunning pieces were sold by Saks Fifth Ave, Bloomingdales and Lord and Taylor. Florenza is often difficult to date because they consistently used the copyright symbol long before most other jewelry makers did. But the presence of AB stones dates this brooch after 1955 and this style of brooch date it to the mid to late 1950's.
Because Classic ..... Never goes out of style.
