Today we are delighted to present a lovely Edwardian 14K rose Gold Sapphire and Seed Pearl bar pin / Brooch with circa 1910.
This is beautiful Edwardian pin features a central 4mm round cut Sapphire surrounded on each side by 9 natural seed Pearls in a 14k rose Gold setting. The brooch measures 2.5" x 4" x .3" and weighs 3.6 grams. It closes securely with an early rolled safety clasp.
This brooch is in excellent antique condition with no breaks or repairs. The gemstones are natural and original to the piece. It is hallmarked 14K for 585 gold . It has an unknown makers mark of FM. A Presidium gem tester was used to verify the gemstones. A GemOro Auracle tester was used to verify the metal content. This item was microscopically examined.
The Edwardian era derives its name from the reign of an English King, Edward VII (1901-1910). This is the final jewelry period appellation to be defined by a British monarch. This period is also known as La Belle Époque or “Beautiful Age”.
