This bentwood bride's box comes from Alsace. It is extremely small. Was it a miniature made for children or does this kind of little box was dedicated to a special jewel ? To be honest, I simply do not know. I date it from the end of the XIXth century.
The lid is decorated with the silhouette of a peasant marching through his land with a stick in his hand. Colours are red, black and green. The polychromy has been pretty well preserved. The box itself is in excellent condition such as the polychromy.
I insist on the fact that this kind of size is quite unusual.
