Here we have a 16" Steiff teddy bear in well loved condition. He is fully jointed, straw stuffed, and still retains the Steiff FF button in his ear. This expressive fellow has glass eyes, a floss stitched nose and mouth, and 4 claw stitches on each paw. In his day this wonderful guy had golden mohair fur which has faded to beige and has mostly been loved off. He has a growler in his belly which makes just a bit of sound when he is tilted backwards. You will see in the photos that he has lots of apologies and wear to his fabric. I have taken lots of close-up photos to show these areas at the top and back of his head, on his back, and right arm. He also has staining to his fabric backing (mainly to the right arm and leg), and all of his paw pads are nicely done replacements. Even with his apologies, he has such a wonderful expressive face, and I just love his profile! Circa mid-1920's.
