This spectacular late Victorian-early Art Nouveau era RICH (possibly no heat!) velvety blue sapphire and old mine cut diamond ring is an excellent example of a precious sparkler with highly desirable sapphires surrounded by tiny antique cut diamonds in a classic design. This is a handmade ring that would make an excellent heirloom. The ring comprises five oval mixed cut sapphires prong-set in a single row, with eight old mine cut diamonds prong-set above and below at their intersections, on a half-round shank which measures from 1.52 to 3.06 mm in width. The sapphires are eye clean, and have the following approximate measurements, and approximate weights: 1) 4.72 x 3.70 x 2.44 mm, .36 cts; 2) 6.32 x 4.63 x 2.85 mm, .70 cts; 3) 5.75 x 4.47 x 2.27 mm, .49 cts; 4) 4.56 x 3.90 x 2.11 mm, .32 cts; 5) 5.48 x 4.33 x 2.38 mm, .51 cts. The diamonds are VS2-SI1 in clarity, I-J in color, measure an approximate average of 1.95 mm in diameter, and weigh approximately .03 carats each. Approximate total diamonds weight being .24ct t.w., and sapphires 2.38 ct t.w.. This ring has a grand total gem and diamond weight of approximately 2.62 carats. This incredible antique ring weighs 4.8 grams, is made entirely in 18k rose-yellow gold with a star motif hallmark (tested and guaranteed), and is currently a finger size 7.
