A one of a kind antique lab-created ruby and diamond brooch with an era appropriate 'star' or 'spray' design with glittering antique cut diamonds in rose/yellow gold; just delicious! Feast your eyes on this true Edwardian 14k yellow gold, synthetic ruby corundum, and diamond brooch, of hand-made construction, circa early 20th century. The brooch measures 1 1/8” x 1” and comprises an oval mixed cut synthetic ruby, surrounded by two concentric rows of round rose cut diamonds, at the center of a starburst-style oval mounting individually prong-set with Old European and round rose cut diamonds, on a straight pin back with safety catch. The synthetic ruby (lab-created gems were the HOTTEST invention on the market in the early 20th century!) measures approximately 10.07 x 7.17 x 4.31 mm, and weighs approximately 2.61 carats. The 20 larger old European cut diamonds are VS1-SI1 in clarity, H-J in color, measure an approximate average of 2.50mm in diameter, and weigh approximately 0.06 carats each (1.20ct t.w.). The 60 smaller old European cut and round rose cut diamonds are SI1-SI2 in clarity, H-J in color, measure from approximately 1.30 to 1.78 mm in diameter, weigh from approximately 0.01 to 0.02 carat each, and have an approximate total weight of 0.90 carats for a grand total diamond weight being 2.10ct t.w. Approximate total gem weight: 4.71 carats. The brooch is unmarked but has been entirely tested and guaranteed 14k gold, weighs 8.2 grams, and my trusted jewelry can easily convert this to a pendant with a hidden folding bale for a $150.00 fee (or an over the top RING!!!), just message me prior to checking out so I can set that up for you! I will be more than happy to email you a current retail replacement appraisal upon completion of sale, just shoot me a message after you receive your piece! Questions are welcomed on Pin-2534.
