This is a true piece of history, a conversation starter, and simply just a wearable piece of art! A true Victorian Giardinetti basket of flowers choker pin, made in 18k yellow gold, sterling silver, dark navy blue glass (looks dark blue to black depending on lighting), and chunky glittering rose cut diamonds of hand-made construction, circa late 19th century. This exquisite brooch measures 36.00 x 25.00 mm and comprises a rectangular frame rub-over-set with 36 oval rose cut diamonds, holding a blueberry blue glass background onto which is set a dimensional basket holding diamond-set flowers, on a straight pin back with a hook catch. The 106 sparkling and chunky diamonds are oval rose cut, round rose cut, and pear rose cut, SI1-I1 in clarity, I-K in color, measure from approximately 1.25 to 2.60 mm in diameter, weigh from approximately 0.005 to 0.03 carats each, and have an approximate total weight of 0.75 carats. The reverse is engraved with a floral design. The brooch is unmarked. Total weight: 13.6 grams. I can have my jeweler add a folding bale to the back in sterling silver or 14k gold, whichever you prefer, just message me for a quote. This is a once in a lifetime piece for an incredible value!
