I am honored to offer such a SPECIAL piece from the mid-Victorian era. The patina is unsurpassed and the design is exquisite! Did you know that amethysts are natural stress relievers with healing properties that rid negative energy and encourage inner strength, wealth, and clarity of the mind? More reason to splurge on this glittering antique beauty! I had a new custom cut natural amethyst put in recently for the perfect regal brooch on your velvet blazer. A fantastic heirloom sterling silver, natural amethyst quartz, and diamond brooch, of hand-made construction, circa mid to late 19th century. The brooch measures 1 ½” x 1 3/8” and comprises an emerald cut amethyst prong-set at the center of a diamond-shaped scrollwork mounting prong-, bezel-, and surface-prong-set around the perimeter and throughout with old European, old mine cut, and round rose cut diamonds, on a straight pin back with hook clasp. The amethyst measures approximately 13.64 x 11.92 x 8.08 mm, and weighs approximately 9.40 carats. The old European cut diamonds are VS1-VS2 in clarity and G-I in color. One measures approximately 4.04 x 4.04 x (2.42) mm and weighs approximately 0.25 carat. One measures approximately 4.18 x 4.18 x (2.51) mm and weighs approximately 0.28 carat. Eight diamonds measure from 2.23 to 3.30 mm in diameter, weigh from approximately 0.04 to 0.13 carat each, and have an approximate total weight of 0.68 carat. The 68 glittering rose cut diamonds are SI1-SI2 in clarity, G-J in color, measure from approximately 1.35 to 2.28 mm in diameter, weigh from approximately 0.005 to 0.02 carat each, and the diamonds have an approximate total weight of approximately 1.67 carats. This piece as a whole has 11.07 carats of beautiful diamonds and February's birthstone. The brooch is unmarked with US origin and weighs 11.3 grams. I can have my jeweler add a folding bale to the back in sterling silver or 14k gold, whichever you prefer, just message me for a quote. This is a once in a lifetime piece for an incredible value!
