Beautiful pair of ceramic swans sitting on a bed of grass. The swans are done in a white glaze with pink overtones. The very elegant pair seem to be a couple waiting to set on that tv. Whoops I guess they can't set on a flat screen. In the 1950s, the first decade of mass television adoption, there was a common belief that watching TV in low light could damage one's eyesight. But early televisions, with their dull luminescence, were best viewed in the dark. So the TV lamp was invented to add a little light to the room and dispel people’s fears. So the famous tv lamps were born. The lamp is done by Maddux of Calif. xx825 made in USA, and copywriter 59. Condition great no chips or cracks. You will see a flaw on beak of larger swan, (small pimple like spot). The lamp has been rewired due to age of older wiring. Bulb is not included. Nice gift for that beginner collector or a great addition to your others. Measurements 12" x 10".
