A matched set of desirable sterling collared glass decanters with cut glass stoppers, in a bespoke tantalus with carrying handle and cut-outs in the base for securing the decanters. The stoppers are hand cut and ground, with each stopper fitting a specific decanter.
This sleek and elegant piece was created in 1932 by recognized Sheffield silversmiths, Maxfield & Sons, founded 1855. The collars are hallmarked sterling silver, and the base hallmarked heavy Sheffield plate. This piece would make a rare gift or sophisticated addition to your own service.
Excellent condition. There is a tiny chip on the underside edge of one of the stoppers, visible with close examination. Please see photos.
