Very fine Victorian period English silver plate revolving dome breakfast or serving dish. Decorated with delicate, detailed fern leaves. Each leg features ball and paw feet. The server is very fine quality throughout with it's original two liners, one being pierced as seen in the photos. The server is very practical for use, as you can put hot water in the base to keep everything nice and hot, fill with ice to keep lobster rolls cool or you can remove the liners and serve vegetables, eggs or even soup. They are extremely popular because when you have a home buffet set up your guests can serve themselves and not have to worry about where to put the lid from the serving dish, it just revolves out of the way, then it can be closed to keep everything hot (or cold), as silver is a wonderful insulator.
This beauty measures approx. 12" across from the outside handle to the outside handle. The actual serving area of the slotted piece measures 8 3/4" by 6" a nice practical size for use and display. The Entree Server is in beautiful condition with no dints, cracks, or repairs and very clean inside.
