This stunning hard-paste porcelain mantlepiece was hand-sculpted and hand-painted by using the same painstaking technique made famous by Imperial Chinese porcelain artists. Each piece is bisque fired, then high glaze fired, then fired with onglaze enamels multiple times to create remarkable depth and brilliance in the colors. Handmade in America by Boston artist Katherine Houston.
It is made up of three outstanding pieces when arranged together become 52" long. 11" tall and 10" deep.
Featured are squash, blue florals, red capped mushrooms, berries, red and yellow pears and autumn fruit. All on a bed of finely individually crafted leaves. A true one of a kind masterpiece. Purchased new for $28,000.
