Rare and elegant antique Samuel Alcock white parian pitcher features a witch and her minion toiling over a cauldron on one side in lavender. The other side features a gypsy camp mother and infant, a young girl, a father and another man along with a dog, also in lavender.
This piece is extremely detailed as seen in the background of leaves and branches along with the tent for the Wanderers, the flames of the fire and the gate of the fence.
Bottom incised Published by S. Alcock, Burslem July 1 1842.
There is a chip on the inside of the spout, which does not detract from its function or beauty, otherwise no condition issues.
