Hand painted Royal Doulton plate features a unique design, with the Tench swimming in their natural habitat. The painting is of exceptional quality and great delicacy of palette. Trimmed in gold.

The plate would make an unusual gift for a fine cook or a fishing enthusiast. It would also be a wonderful addition to a collection of early Doulton.

Maroon transfer factory mark, the lion standing on top of a Crown, above the word "Royal Doulton", then "England" on a circle on concentric lines with a stylized clover centre. Painted pattern mark "HB 4958A”. Bottom incised DOULTON 03. Signed by the artist John Price Rd. No. 184626 (1891)

Slight stacking mark, otherwise, no condition issues.

9" across.
