A superb rare Georgian rose-cut diamond cluster ring circa 1780 s,in very good original condition ,set to the center with an irregular round high domed rose-cut diamond weighing approx. 0.55 carat in a closed back setting with a black foil , surrounded by eight well matched high domed rose-cut diamonds of various shapes glistening strongly , reflecting the color of the black foil.
The ring is made of gold with a silver top, the split shoulders support a flame motive; at the back a basket back.
Please take into consideration that closed back foiled rings are delicate , should not be in contact with water/liquids.
Period: Georgian circa 1780 s.
Material: yellow gold 18 karat and silver weighing 3.8 gram , acid tested.
Diamond: One high domed “Amsterdam” rose-cut diamond weighing approx. 0.55 carat, measuring 5.7 mm x 5.5 mm, and eight well matched rose-cut diamonds of various shapes measuring 4 mm weighing approx. 0.20 carat each; total weight is approx. 2.15 carat.
Measurements: round top 1.5 cm ( 0.50 inch) , high on the finger 0.66 cm ( 0.26 inch).
