This superb Antique Georgian cross pendant is made in silver dating circa 1780 s, it is very collectible and still wearable, very difficult to find in such good condition, a fine example of the skill and the craftsmanship of the jewelers of this period.
The Pendant consists of three hinged elements in stylized foliated and flower design set with rose-cut diamonds of various shapes; five rose-cut diamonds in closed back foiled settings embellish the pendant.
The pendant is in very good original condition, with a beautiful patina, it still has on the back, the original two bars which are used to wear the pendant suspended on a ribbon.
Period: Georgian circa 1780 s.
Material: Silver , weighing 6.7 gram, acid tested.
Origin: Probably Belgium – in this period Belgium has been occupied by the Frenches. Belgium is independent since 1830.
Measurements: Total length 4.3 cm (1.69 inch), the top element is 3 cm wide 1.18 inch), the cross is 3 cm long (1.18 inch) and 2.6 cm wide (1.02 inch).
