This superb Antique Georgian large cross pendant is made in silver dating circa 1790 s, it is very collectible and still wearable; very difficult to find in such good condition, a fine example of the skill and the craftsmanship of the jewelers of this period.
The Pendant consists from three hinged elements in stylized foliated and flower design set with rose-cut diamonds of various shapes; six larger rose-cut diamonds in closed back foiled settings embellish the pendant.
The pendant is in very good condition, with a beautiful patina, it still has on the back, the original two bars which are used to wear the pendant suspended on a ribbon.
Period: Antique Georgian circa 1790 s.
Origin: Probably Belgium – in this period Belgium has been occupied by the Frenches. Belgium became independent in 1830.
Measurements: Total length 5.9 cm (2.32 inches), the largest element is 6 cm wide (2.36 inches), the cross is 4 cm long (1.57 inch) and 2.8 wide (1.10 inch).
Material: Silver , weighing 16 gram, acid tested.
