A wonderful rare Georgian necklace from circa 1820-30 s, it features nine graduated antique oval-cut glistening golden color citrines. The sumptuous citrines are framed by delicate hand Cannetille work in different colors 18 k gold, in a floral design.
The name "Cannettile" referred to the gold embroideries of the Napoleonic period.
This elegant necklace looks marvelous when worn, the delicate mounts are arranged perfectly to fit the neck, pleasant to wear.
The central element hides a double clasp.
The necklace is in very good condition considering it`s age; there are some small antique strengthening reparations, hardly visible, and some prongs are missing.
Period: Georgian circa 1820-30 s.
Origin: Probably English.
Material: Three different colors 18 k gold, weighing 41.3 gram, acid tested.
Gemstones: Nine gold color oval- cut Citrine weighing together about 60 carat, measuring from 20 x 16 mm to 9 x 7 mm.
Measurements: Length 45 cm (17.7 inches).
NOTE: In order to preserve the original condition of the jewel, stones have not been removed from their setting. The gemstones weight, color, grade and clarity, unless stipulated otherwise, have been made by measurement formula and comparison.
