This superb Georgian rose-cut diamonds brooch is dating circa 1780 s, it was handcrafted in silver to an elegantly articulated open work design, featuring stylized floral motives embellished with 28 beautiful rose cut diamonds of various shapes and sizes set in foiled closed back settings, with a later hinged pin and secure scrolling clasp.
Condition: Very good.
Period: Antique Georgian circa 1780 s.
Material: the brooch is made in silver,( the latter pin is made in white gold 18 k), weighing 14.2 grams, acid tested.
Measurements: East to West 5.7 cm ( 2.24 inches), North to South 3.7 cm ( 1.45 inches).
Diamonds: Twenty-eight (28) glistening rose-cut diamonds. The main diamond in the upper element measures 5, 5 mm diameter, the main diamond in the bottom element measures 6.5 mm x 6 mm, and 26 rose-cut diamonds measuring between 5.2 mm to 1.5 mm.
NOTE: In order to preserve the original condition of the jewel, stones have not been removed from their settings. Diamonds weight, color, grade and clarity, unless stipulated otherwise, have been made by measurement formula and comparison.
