Behold...A Magnificent Pair of art glass Exotic Pheasants. An elegant work of art circa 1950's, 60's by Master Glass Artist, Alfredo Barbini, Of Murano Italy, 1912-2007. Among his piers were Archimede Seguso and Gino Cendese .,both ,Premier Glass Artists. Barbini started his glass career at the age of 13 working under the watchful eye of many of the Masters of the time: He was a fast learner and had a "thirst" for perfection. One of his first achievements was perfecting the Bullicante (controlled bubbles) technique which he used extensively throughout his long carrier.He also designed for other glass furnaces even after opening his own. This pair of Exotic Birds are among,if not, his finest work,.employing, Sommerso, Buillicante, millions of,infused particles of gold sand and dust,float in the cased layers of clear and colored glass of the sculptures, from their beaks, to the tips of their tails, one shade of glass and gold, flowing into another, without a start, or finish. You can actually "look into" the bodies of these beautiful birds. They stand 16 inches in height, and weigh in at a hefty, 5.50 Pounds each. Condition: As New..Pristine..Perfect....If you look as good as these Sculptures do after over Half a Century...take a bow!! When you find a pair of these Sculptures available ( which is very seldom) To Almost Never. I Have Encountered 2 Such Pairs In My Over 50 Years Of Collecting Murano Glass.
