we show for your consideration,A very nice hand blown Art Glass Sculpture of a Bullicante, style exotic bird. The gold ":bollicine"(bubbles) of this particular sculpture was achieved by the shape of the tool used to impress the pattern in the glass, which in this instance was then filled with solid gold. This technique was developed in the 1930's by Glass Master Archimede Seguso. the gold was then covered with more layers of glass. You can see where the bollicine was" dragged"while still molten into the neck, back, and tail areas to form a striated feather look. The light beige, lightly opalescent, glass body, has a feathered look. The beak, crest, and eyes, are applied ,black glass. The perimeter of the tail and the base are clear glass.
You can actually "see"into this bird.... It stands 10.50 inches tall, and weighs a little less than 3 pounds, and is in as New condition.,
