Here is a very attractive stand with heavy relief decorative foliage on the bowl as well as the base. The bowl has a semi-matte glaze finish that has a slightly metallic hew. The pottery is very thick and is supported by a wooden column of oak or maple which also has a metallic hew. There is no damage of any kind to the bowl or base. The column has a few minor dings which are barely noticeable. When the stand is turned over you will notice at first glance what appears to be a crack in the pottery in the area of the screw hole. This is NOT a crack. When a dowel was pressed through the wet clay to produce the screw hole, the excess that protruded was swiped with a clay knife or spatula to smooth the excess.
There is also a copper catch tray which sits in the bowl to catch any excess water from the plant. The base of the copper catch tray is impressed with the Chase Copper Company logo. There are no other identifying names or marks, but this is certainly a product of a premier U.S. pottery company.the CHASE COPPER CO.was a company. that manufactured ART DECO Products in copper and chrome plated copper DECO Items in the 1920's And 30.s
The stand is 24 inches tall. The bowl is 6-¾ inches in diameter at the opening. The base is 10-½ inches in diameter.
