These wonderful 19th century French enamels are more and more difficult to find, many having already found their way into collections. This magnificent candle holder in here is a fine example of an antique French kiln fired enamels, most popular in 1860-1910. Candle holder made of gilded bronze and embellished with enchanting design in colorful enamels. It sits on double square plinths base. The bronze candle socket shaped in laurel wreath with tassels and fringes below, details are amazing. Absolutely beautiful it will bring ambiance to any decor.
The candle holder stands slightly over 9" (23 cm) high; the base is 3 3/4" (9 cm) square.
It is in very good consistent with age condition, I don't really see any flow in kiln fired enamel. Gilding shows age wear, plinth (lower one) has a few nibbles at the edge, otherwise perfect.
