A dazzling French antique Bowl on bronze dore base, c.1850'. One of these, sought after by collectors, Grand Tour souvenirs from Palais Royal, former residence of Cardinal Richelieu and historied center of social and commercial life of 19th century Paris. Shimmering mother of pearl half shell create the Bowl resting on bronze dore base in form of grape vines that trails up creating support for the bowl. The mother of pearl bowl mounted into bronze mounts that is topped by birds, one on each side.
It stands 15.5 cm high; 16 x 9 cm at the opening.
Very good to excellent condition without any damage, shows its age with general and expected wear. Partial loss to gilding is expected on a piece which is over 150 years old.
