Antique French Palais Royal Blue opaline glass Box or Jar in filigree ormolu
The delightful blue opaline glass combined with the brilliant and delicate brass dore reticulated ormolu give this lidded bowl a jewel-like presence. It dates from early of 1880' towards 1870' and comes from Paris. These early souvenirs from Paris were found in boutiques of the famed Palais Royal of Paris, which is the old palace of Cardinal Richelieu. The treasures from the Palais Royal remain today some of the most sought after antiques to be found, and this beautiful opaline glass lidded bowl is one among those, wonderful in all ways.
This beautiful lidded bowl stands on four boule feet 4.5" (11.5 cm) high to the top lion finial it is 2.5" (6.5) high without lid; 3 3/4" (9.5 cm) in diameter at the widest.
Remarkably well preserved. With No chips, hairlines or cracks. Only on the lid one small piece of ormolu is missing, otherwise fine antique collectible piece.
