Beautiful original oil on canvas painting by prominent British-Australian artist - William Blamire Young, 1862-1935.
Well known for painting romantic, lyrical landscapes. The artist worked with watercolour mostly, it is quite rare to find his oil.

The painting measures without frame 12" x 18" - 31 x 46 cm. Framed in gilt wood 1" - 2.5 cm wide frame.
Painting is in very good condition, without tears or paint loss.
About Artist -
Born in England in 1862, William Blamire Young was a Victorian painter and art critic who exhibited in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney as well as with the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Academy in London. A popular painter of romantic, lyrical landscapes, he was commissioned by the Post Master General in 1911, to design some of Australia's first postage stamps.
William Blamire Young is represented in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London as well as all major Australian Art galleries including the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, The Queensland Art Gallery, The Art Gallery of South Australia and many regional art galleries.
Highest price achieved at auction is currently $80,736.00 for two works (Christies, London, 23/09/2010, Lot No. 7).
