Wonderful vintage S.A. Boulanger Reed Table or Desk Lamp, production period 1960 and 1970s - Mid-Century Modern. S.A. Boulanger is famous for the large amount of lights the company produced that are designed by Gaetano Sciolari. This design was probably inspired by a lamp designed by Maison Charles, Paris: “Vase Roseaux” (reeds vase) and often sold as a Maison Charles lamp. The Maison Charles table lamps always have a stamp on the back of a metal base with the company’s name on.
This lamp was produced by Société Anonyme S.A. Boulanger, Liege, Belgium, it bares original paper label to the bottom of the base. These lamps were very popular and were produced in many versions, and in different sizes. Different lampshades were used, adapted to the taste of the customer. S.A. Boulanger ended business somewhere in the 1980s.
This lamp made completely of brass: palm leafs gilded brass, trim to the post and base polished brass and parts of the base and post are chromed, will come with red fabric lampshade, Bakelite sockets. It is a 3 bulbs lamp and any type of light bulb can be used. Electricity: E14 – 3 x 60 watt – 110/220 volt.
Lamp measures - Height: 92,5 cm – 36.41”; Base: 12 x 12 cm – 4.72" x 4.72”
The lamp in perfect working condition with expected little age wear.
