We have been fortunate to acquire this example of an extremely rare mid 1950's Christian Dior Necklace.
This sumptuous early Christian Dior blush pearl festoon necklace by Henkel & Grosse dates to 1955.
A row of round crown set clear rhinestones forms the main starting point of the necklace close to the neck supporting a garland of six rows of graduated blush glass pearls which end at the central motif in the form of a triangle composed of various shaped prong and crown set rhinestones. This central pendant is offset with teardrop crown set clear rhinestone. The necklace is finished off with a flat scroll chain and is adjustable with an "S" clasp and extender chain finished off with a tear drop clear rhinestone.
This necklace is illustrated in two books detailing the collaboration of Christian Dior and Henkell & Grosse. Signed in cartouche to back of pendant CHRISTIAN DIOR Length of 47.5 cm (18.1/2 inch) with a drop of 10 cm (4 inch).
