A Large exceptional and rare early 1970's Chanel Bow Brooch set in silver with clear pastes and three opposing rows of large ruby cushion octagon baguette paste stones. The centre is set with a large oval aquamarine paste and surrounded by clear pastes. All stones are open backed and prong set.
The bow is three dimensional and is fitted with both a bail so that it can be worn as a pendant and a rollover clasp to be worn as a brooch.

This large and imposing brooch is a rare example of the work of Chanel using paste stones in a silver setting. Such designs are seldom seen.
The brooch was reputedly worn by the actress Candice Bergen in the early 1970's at a Chanel Runway Event (attributed by the original French owner). Candice Bergen was the face of Chanel No 5 in the late 1960's early 1970's.
The brooch is in superb condition.I have never seen this brooch before and probably a one off piece.Truly a rare collectors item.
