A sleekly styled Midcentury matching necklace and earring set, c. 1955, in 14-karat (as stamped) yellow gold, signed by the high-end Newark, NJ, manufacturer F. and F. Felger, founded in 1880. Both pieces display the many touches of quality in design and execution that would be expected of a company that produced jewelry for Cartier and Tiffany over their long history. The necklace comprises satin-finished diagonal center links, contrasting perfectly with a double, staggered row of small high-polished round links bordering on each side. It measures 15 1/2" long and 3/8" wide. There is a box clasp with figure-eight safety catch. The earrings utilize a larger version of the center links, along with the same border, all twisted into a spiral shape measuring 1 1/8" top to bottom x 7/8" wide. There are omega clip backs. In excellent vintage condition, this set is a perfect expression of 1950s daytime style, which will serve in today's more casual world to make a fashion statement day or night.
