A striking ring in a small package, this dome ring is in 18-karat (as stamped) yellow gold, and is bead-set in three staggered, diagonal rows (pave-style) with 13 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing about 0.50 carat total and 12 round rubies weighing about 0.75 carat total. The diamonds have approximate average quality of G-H color, I1 clarity and Good cut. The round faceted rubies are vivid and bright in the hue of strong purplish red.
The mounting is also stamped with a trademark, as yet unidentified. This piece appears to have been made in the 1980s, when diamond and gold prices began rising dramatically, and smaller commercial grade stones were employed to make jewelry more affordable. Whoever made it used those raw materials to produce a beautiful look.
