An exquisite hand-made Victorian cluster ring in 14-karat (as tested) yellow gold. This piece appears as a solid expanse of diamond across the top, measuring about 15 mm. in diameter, which gives way to open-work shoulders with a remarkable scroll design to about half-way down the shank, tapering to a solid base. There are six old mine-cut diamonds weighing about 2.57 carats total. I have graded their colors in the I to K range. Their clarity grades include one at VS2; one at SI1; two at SI2; and two at I1. In the center, mounted by six prongs shared with the others, is an old-mine cut diamond weighing about 0.75 carat, having approximate J color and I1 clarity. Their cutting style indicates the age of the piece is mid-1800s. Owing to fine workmanship and the style of setting, these stones are in very good antique condition, as is the mounted itself, which is finger size 9. It can be sized only to a limited degree.
