Signed by the 1970s manufacturer Lazarus Jewelers, this large, lavish (2" x 2") pendant-brooch is of quatrefoil design. In 18-karat (as stamped) yellow gold, it has deep ribs in four curving quadrants, each one cupping a round cabochon emerald weighing about 0.30 carat, and with high-polished elongated elements at the cardinal positions. Gold granulated accents on the ribs give the piece an extravagant feel.
At 3/8" deep and noticeable domed shape, it has good dimension without being hard to wear as either a pendant (by a hanger loop at the top on the back) or a brooch. In the center, it is prong-set with a round brlliant cut diamond weighing about 0.92 carat, having F color, I1 clarity and Good cut. Weighty at 18.9 pennyweights (29.3 grams). Not for the faint of heart!
