Open Cartouche Design Diamond Earrings, C. 1950Open Cartouche Design Diamond Earrings, C. 1950

How beautiful are these Mid Century lever back earrings, bead-set with 24 round diamonds weighing about 0.35 carat total! In 18-karat (stamped "750" and tested) white gold, they are designed as frames of open cartouches with foliate themes, with milgrain borders and bright cut details throughout. the fronts appear to be of cast manufacture, and the diamonds are spread modern cut, with G-H color and SI clarity. The metal may have been rhodium-plated, as is typically done; if an owner wishes a shiny bright white finish, that can be re-applied, although I prefer to leave them as is. Otherwise, these earrings are in excellent vintage condition, and are sure to please.
