In this lovely and elegant example, the pink brush strokes on the wings of the swan turn the figure into a thing of beauty for a functional piece. There are two distinct quill holders, each edged in gold. There also is a gold line around the base and gold elongated lines on the swan’s neck. As this bird represented beauty in Victorian times, it was a popular motif for the Staffordshire potteries.
This figure is in excellent original condition. Other than some minor paint loss beneath the swan’s beak (where it is not easily seen), there is nothing to remark upon.
This is a beautiful quality quill holder to add to your collection.
It measures 3-5/8 inches high and 2-7/8 inches wide at the base.
