This is an excellent figure of a Staffordshire pottery black and white rabbit. It dates to the mid-19th century Victorian period; circa 1850.
The rabbit is modeled crouching on a green painted base. It is painted with black splotches beneath the glaze. This one has an enchanting appearance help by the application of pink paint to its long ears. The full pink muzzle adds to his irresistible charm.
The condition of this piece is excellent. It has had a minor invisible restoration. Antique figures of rabbits are always rare and they are very collectible.
It measures 2-7/8 inches long and 2-5/16 inches high.
