This spoon belonged to a lovely native Kentuckian born in the 1880s who passed in the 1970s. She had two spoons – one (Kentucky) where she and her husband and children were born and one (Washington, D.C.) where she lived for many years.
This spoon is very decorated – the top features to people and states “united we stand, divided we fall”, below that is a picture of Dan’l Boone, of course a race horse and what would be most approximate a whisky barrel. In the bowl a picture of “old Kentucky home.”
On the back there is a picture of a tepee, canoe, hatchet and an oar. This is a real collector’s item. It measures approximately 5.5 inches. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
