When I first saw this little charmer I really loved the beadwork on the top and bottom and even on the edges. It went perfectly with my antique sterling bangle bracelet that has the beading. Each of the four outer plaques are octagonal with beading on the edges and flowers in the center. The plaque is round and I am not sure the significance of the design – just that it is pretty and interesting. The brooch is somewhat rounded or perhaps a tad bit concave and measures 1 5/8 “ by 1” and the pin sticks out a little longer. Of course, as normal in Victorian brooches, it has a c ring clasp.
It is not marked but does test as sterling and was found in London in the 1990s. Thank you for looking and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
