This brooch was obtained in 1980 from an antique jewelry dealer on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. At the time of purchase, I took it to a certified jeweler for the particulars on the brooch which are as follows. The diamond pin is platinum with 14k white gold joint, pin and clasp and weights 14.1 grams (9.3 pennyweights) and contains 27 diamonds most are old European round brilliant cut.with estimated weights as follows:
1 – the center diamond is .50 carat
2 each at .16 carat
6 each at .14 carat
2 each at .08 carat
2 each at .06 carat
12 each at .02 carat
2 each at .01 carat
Total approximate weight is 2.38 carats.
